How do you design the layout?
After completing hundreds of installations and many thousands of walls working with interior designers, architects and home owners we have seen it all!
The morning we arrive, we will walk through with you, discussing options and the various choices gaining a full understanding of your vision well before anything is cut. Think of it as a collaboration where we leverage our knowledge and expertise to assist you design a layout for the impact you had envisioned. We aim to highlight techniques to bring out the very best aesthetic whilst avoiding any pitfalls or potential design flaws through full consideration to arrive at a beautifully balanced and proportional interior to enjoy.
How much experience do you have?
Jason originally trained as a carpenter & joiner in the United Kingdom over 20 years ago. There, he cut his teeth working on period properties including historic homes, theatres and public houses (pubs), learning passed down skills from seasoned tradesmen.
On moving to Australia in 2009 and subsequently starting Living Walls Joinery in 2018, he has been designing and installing custom wainscoting and wall panelling ever since and is likely the most qualified and experienced tradesman in this specialty.
How do I calculate the metre rates?
Our rates are linear metres, simply left to right, or right to left across your walls!

How long does installation take?
With our extensive experience and our purpose built mobile workshop, we are highly accurate but also highly efficient. Generally our installations take 1 - 3 days to complete, depending on size and scope.
Your prices are very competitive, am I missing something?
We are genuine wainscoting specialists, who have honed our craft, skills and efficiency over many years and proudly offer the most competitive rates in Sydney to our customers.
Can you install onto rendered walls?
Yes, we have specialist tooling that enables us to install onto both gyprock and rendered finishes
Who will complete my installation?
Jason & Michael personally complete each installation. We never use subcontractors or inexperienced tradesmen. Our customers choose Living Walls knowing they will receive the master, never the apprentice!
What are the materials made from?
All our materials are genuine FSC pine. We have developed our own exclusive bespoke mouldings through years of experience to ensure authentic results worthy of our reputation.
How can I prepare for installation?
If items can be moved away from the walls in preparation this is a great help. For heavier items, Jason and Michael are very happy to assist on the day of installation so no need to worry!
Do you offer painting services?
We don't offer prep and painting as we focus on the carpentry. If you need help finding a painter, we can provide you with details of who we recommend for an outstanding finish.
